The VJT features a computer-optimized center block that creates improved operator comfort and stability by minimizing vibration levels. This enhanced technology is unique to the VJT and sets it apart from other products in the category. Extended tire life, another of the VJT’s attributes, is achieved by improving wear resistance through reduced friction between the tire’s center blocks and the ground.

K-Tec Earthmovers Inc. has announced the launch of its latest and largest construction pull scraper. The K-Tec 1254 ADT (articulating dump truck) is the world’s largest earthmoving scraper available on the market today. With a heaped capacity of 54 cubic yards (ISO) and empty tare weight of 49,000 pounds, the K-Tec 1254 ADT will literally move mountains. Designed to be pulled with a six-wheel drive, 40-ton-plus ADT, this scraper is ready to help contractors substantially reduce their dirt-moving costs. To maximize the 1254’s capacity, a push dozer/tractor in the cut is recommended. For contractors with excavators, the K-Tec 1254 ADT works very well as a haul wagon. The large target area makes for easy, fast loading.

Rogers Brothers Corp. recently built a 35-ton capacity fixed gooseneck trailer for the US Department of Agriculture Forest Service. It was delivered to Salmon-Challis National Forest, located on 4.3 million acres in east-central Idaho. Rogers’ MH35 trailer—GSA Model #442-099—has the high ground clearance and heavy-duty spring suspension that are ideal for rugged natural terrain. This trailer’s standard features include 6-foot E-Z Flip rear-loading ramps for safe, easy loading of equipment. The 24-foot, level platform oak deck also has durable oak on the 30-degree slope and on the full-width gooseneck.

Jet Co. is leading the way with the biggest design improvement since the development of the side-dump trailer. Jet’s new patent-pending trunnion-mounted, inverted hydraulic cylinder design gives the operator a more controlled dump cycle and improved trailer stability. Pivot geometry works to maintain a more consistent tub speed throughout the dump cycle. Jet’s design greatly decreases tub acceleration and sudden tub stop at the end of cylinder travel, which occurs with other side-dump designs. Decreasing the tub acceleration and end of cylinder travel force reduces cylinder fatigue and seal leaking. Other features include a rounded tub for easier clean-out, no inside tub divider restricting material, and greaseless pivots for less maintenance.

The Kobelco SK210LC excavator features a new Tier III-certified, 150 horsepower, six-cylinder, direct-injected diesel engine with intercooler turbocharger. This engine features 490 foot-pounds of torque at 1,200 rpm, a 14% increase in torque over previous models. A power-boost feature provides 10% more power on command for increased bucket breakout force without time limitations. The machine also features easy, ground-level servicing of filters, batteries, and hydraulics to reduce maintenance time and boost productivity.

The overall efficiency of the XL Planter Trailer’s flip booster results from its ability to hydraulically raise and lower the flip booster with the push of a lever. When the unit moves, its tires are on the ground or the deck is lying flat on the trailer. This smooth transition occurs when a lever on the side of the trailer is pulled.
